We have to embrace the past as a part of us and look to the future. Take my roots with me wherever I go. You are strong when you have strong roots, so you shouldn’t think they are holding you back. I was trying to “control” the future with my actions, and convinced myself of my accomplishments because the alternative was losing hope.
